Ready for Day 2...

Fred has generously allowed us to use his computer to access the internet, so I'll make a quick note here to let you all know that we've arrived and are doing quite well. Fred and Jane went to play Bridge this morning, so we're on our own. (Fred is about as passionate about Bridge as I am about Volleyball, so I completely support him!) We'll do some shopping and meet them for lunch later on.

We have some blog notes from the other computer, as well as some picture. I'll get them uploaded later on so you can see what's been transpiring.

  • Glad to see that you made it safe and sound. And very glad that Joyce survived the 12 hrs on the plane without being driven completely psycho. Are you getting any email over there? Assuming the answer to be no, let me paste in Bev's email from today:
    "Hello everyone,

Thank you again for your many prayers. Dad's surgery was done at about 8:30 last night and he was in his room by 11. They removed the bladder successfully and took samples from his lymph nodes. We will know the results of pathology on the lymph nodes on Monday or Tuesday. . . more waiting. God has answered prayers of healing already, as we spent the several hours waiting with dad to get into surgery, and as we waited for the surgery as a family. He is good. Keep loving on all of us! It helps us with the waiting and our fears.

    Love, Bev"

  • Alan & Joyce,

I will arrive in Bangkok on 7/23 @ 16:55 (or 4:55 pm) on Air Asia Fl# 5013. I will leave for Chiang Mai on 7/25 on Air Asia FL#3234 @ 12:50 pm. Sent Joyce a response email last night. Could you get some recommendations from Fred regarding hotels I can stay in while I'm in Bangkok? Looking forward to seeing you in two weeks.

  • Dennis and Tom,
Thanks for your notes. We do have internet access now, and should be able to respond that way. I don't know how often we'll check, but at least every couple of days. We're enjoying everything (but the heat)and have already decided that we don't have enough time to do all we want to do. Keep reading!
